Lawmakers in Arizona have advanced a proposal that would allow residents in the state to pay their taxes in bitcoin.

Japanese messaging app provider Line Corporation has announced the launch of a new company that will provide in-app cryptocurrency services.

After weeks of confusion and panic among Korean investors, traders and adopters of cryptocurrencies fearing a sweeping government ban akin to China, the country's finance minister has today stressed that the government has no plans to introduce crippling curbs on the cryptocurrency market.


4. EU Launches Blockchain Observatory in Partnership with ConsenSys.
ConsenSys, one of the most prominent startups in the ethereum ecosystem, will work with the European Commission on its EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum, which officially launched Thursday.The two-year endeavor will fund up to €340 million ($425 million) in blockchain projects. The Commission first announced the initiative last spring, citing its desire to expand institutional knowledge of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.


5.UNICEF is asking gamers to mine cryptocurrency for children in Syria.
UNICEF has launched Game Chaingers in an effort to bring together gamers from across the globe and have them unite their computing power for a good cause:"To participate in this operation, all you need to do is to install Claymore, a mining software," the Game Chaingers website reads. "You will be able to start or stop mining when you want, and generate Ethereum right in UNICEF's electronic wallet." So far, the fund has raised a puny €15, but the project will run for another 57 days. At present, the blockchainified mining rig operates at 167 MH/s. There are only eight contributors in total so far though.
